Our Days Are Determined

‘Man’s days are determined; You have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.’ Job 14:5

We like to think we are in complete control of our lives, don’t we? Yet God’s word makes it clear indeed that we are not. He is. And since He is, it behooves us to pay attention to that fact and realize the benefits attached to it.

Having a limited number of days does not create a limit to our accomplishments. With willing hearts and God’s grace and guidance, much can be done in a short amount of time.

Take every day as it comes; capture every minute and hour, and put it to the best use. Do not squander time. Rather, give your time to God, and ask Him to bless it, and to enrich it, and to give it value. He will do this if we ask. He will use us for the purposes He has intended for us to accomplish in His name.

Whether our days on this earth are many or few, we can make a difference. We can enrich the lives of others, which in turn enriches ours. Joy in the Lord is never limited, is never cut short. It lasts into the eternity. But we can be sure it will be with us during the days that are determined by our mighty Creator, if we will stop worrying about time, and pay attention to devotion to Him. Let us serve regardless of our time on this earth. Let us serve with love and determination to bless the heart of God.

My Portfolio - - Christian Writer

I write the 'Rosebuds of Faith Devotional Series' on my personal blog, Ohiolilisview.blogspot.com/, and Angelwing Devotionals at angelwingdevotionals.wordpress.com. Currently working on a devotional e-book, I love to write about what God has done in my life and the lives of others. I am also available to speak to women about God and what He is to them, and what they are to Him! I am active in my church, and monitor a Ladies Prayer-Care-Share email site for the ladies of my church family. I am happily married, and though a born Yankee, I currently reside in the south, and love it! I believe God is just waiting to bless each of us...but it is up to us to see the blessing and to receive it...and then to give Him thanks!
