Comedian Tyler Perry, as many people do in identical circumstances, lost his inspiration with the death of his mother.
Perry announced the death today on his Website.
Madea, a staple character of Perry’s movies, was based in part on his mother.
Certainly prayers are in order for the death of loved ones of people we know well. In Perry’s case, he has established himself as a premier Christian entertainer, using his fame and fortune to present a uniquely American brand on entertainment. This was evident in a recent “60 Minutes” interview he did with Byron Pitts, another high-level professional who used his faith to help overcome difficult childhood experiences.
Our prayers are with Perry and his family.
