  • Christmas Eve has its own traditions separate of Christmas Day, including reading timeless Christmas stories. What’s on your reading list today?
  • Heavy snow is pounding much of the upper Midwest, bringing a white Christmas and plenty of shoveling and tricky driving conditions with it.
  • By a party-line vote of 60-39 the Senate passed landmark health care reform legislation before leaving for it’s Christmas recess. Kentucky Republican Jim Bunning, an opponent of the legislation, skipped the vote. The Senate and House versions of the bill will be conference on after the break with hurdles still remaining.
  • So just where is Santa Claus? NORAD, which is best known for tracking the skies for national defense, is also a reliable source for charting the course of a certain speedy sleigh and reindeer around the globe.
  • Actor Tim Robbins and actress Susan Sarandon have split up after 23 years as a couple. The had two sons together.
  • Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram uses faith as an engine that drives him as Alabama closes in on its BCS National Championship date with Texas and quarterback Colt McCoy.
