Difficulties deepened for Toyota today as the U.S. Transportation Department said it was launching an investigation into brake problems with the popular Prius hybrid model. Toyota admitted today, too, that it changed braking configurations on the 2010 Prius just days ago.
President Obama called for a political civility at the National Prayer Breakfast this morning in the face of continued Republican skepticism about his policies.
The death toll from the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti has topped 200,000 people.
The National Football League has eased restriction on churches using their sanctuaries for Super Bowl viewing parties as long as they follow a set of guidelines, and perhaps most important of all, don’t call it a Super Bowl party.
The team chaplain for the New Orleans Saints will be rooting from his home in Louisiana on Sunday, but still feels a strong connection to the players. Fred Luter has been a leading Baptist pastor in the Big Easy for 23 years and, like many saw his church damaged and congregation scattered by Hurricane Katrina.
