Simon Cowell, American Idol’s infamous “tough love” judge said that on his final night as a judge, he is planning to “have a good time and leave, hopefully, on a high”.
Cowell has taken the role of villian many times on Idol, but has always comported himself with honesty and integrity, if not always with grace. One of the comments he made that stood out to me was that he could not “prostitute himself” just for the extra money. By bucking the Hollywood system of money and celebrity over talent and heart, Cowell has showed his character.
His candor will be missed on American Idol next year, but it will be fun to see where his signature wit takes him next.
