Ad Nauseam

Question-Do you know that ad nauseam means?

Answer- Something that’s been done so often that it is tiresome or annoying.

That sounds suspiciously like my New Years Resolutions

Aren’t you tired of getting nowhere with those things? I sure am.  Here’s a thought. What if we asked God what he wanted us to change this year? The answer most likely will be very different from ours.

Maybe we should try this.

So Eli told Samuel, “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:9-10, NIV)

Here is a version for you.

The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “(Your name here)!” Then (your name here)  said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” (From 1 Samuel 3:9-10, NIV)

Prayer- Lord, when you speak to us, help us to hear your voice! Amen.
