Are You a Good Samaritan?

After trucks pick up my recycling stuff, the containers often magically make it back to my porch. For no reason but that they can, my neighbours often bring my recycling containers in from the road.

The story of the Good Samaritan, (Luke 10: 25-37) talks about helping an injured person, but most of us will never see anyone collapsed on the sidewalk. However, every day we have opportunities to do the small things that make another person’s life a little bit easier.

“What do you think? Which of the three became a neighbor to the man attacked by robbers?”“The one who treated him kindly,” the religion scholar responded. Jesus said, “Go and do the same.” (Luke 10:36-37, MSG)

Prayer- Lord, give us the grace, energy and thoughtfulness to do the little things that seem too small to bother with, but that are so appreciated by all of us. In Christ's name. Amen.
