Best Done

Pablo Picasso said “Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.”

Let’s examine this saying carefully. What makes us uncomfortable? What do we not want the kids to find when they have to go through our stuff?  Should we do laundry every day so they won’t find any stained sweatshirts? What about dust bunnies under the bed and those out-of-date salad dressings in the fridge? After all, those are the items we chase down when we know company is coming.

Mostly, I would really hate to leave anything undone that God had asked of me. That means doing my best for God every day, with everyone I meet. We can only do that if we walk in love.

Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. (1 Corinthians 13:7, AMP)

Prayer- Lord show us what your best looks like and give us your grace to go after it! Amen.
