Blamed Renamed?

My friend Lorraine sent me this diet to try…

Breakfast-1 grapefruit, 1 slice whole wheat toast, 1 cup skim milk

Lunch-1 small portion lean, steamed chicken, 1 cup spinach, 1 cup herbal tea, 1 chocolate.

Afternoon Tea-The rest of the chocolate, 1 tub of ice cream covered with chocolate chips

Dinner-2 loaves garlic bread, 1 family size pizza, 3 candy bars

Late Night Snack-1 whole cheesecake (eaten directly from package)

Further Instruction- Stressed spelled backward is desserts. If you delete this message, you will gain 10 pounds immediately. That's why I had to pass this on; I didn't want to risk it.

Now be honest. Haven't we all made bad decisions like this at one time or another? The only remedy is to start making the right ones…..

God does forgive our mistakes. He loves us anyway, even though we still have to deal with consequences.

What if we did the same for ourselves and for others? The world calls this tough love.

Example- “So you failed the exam? I love you. My love is not conditional to your graduating. However you will now need to get a job and start paying rent.”

Example- “So you insist on marrying this ex-con? I still love you–but note I will not be buying your groceries.

Ezekiel 16:58-You will bear the consequences of your lewdness and your detestable practices, declares the LORD (NIV).

Hmmmm……

Prayer: Lord, we confess that we’ve been making excuses for ourselves and others. Help us to grow up and accept responsibility for our actions…In Christ’s name. Amen.
