Bounced

My friend just sent me a bounce list; that is a list of all things the fabric softener sheet “Bounce” is supposed to be do.  De-smell your shoes, suitcase, books and closets. Repel mosquitoes, ants or mice, no problem.  Prevent static cling everywhere from TV and computer to fabrics. Clean burnt baking pans. Collect cat hair. Is there nothing it can’t do?

Is your life stinky right now, crawling with dozens of undesirable species? Does the stuff of addiction cling to you even though you yearn to be free? Is the past burnt into your conscience? Is sin scattered all over your world? “Bounce” can’t help you. Miraculous though “Bounce” appears to be, it is not God.

Isaiah 66:12-For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; then you will be nursed, you will be carried on her hip and trotted [lovingly bounced up and down] on her [God’s maternal] knees (AMP).

If we have a personal relationship with Jesus, we are his child. Crawl up on his knee, tell him everything and listen for his wise and loving response. Then obey.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for being a God who really listens and cares, no matter what mess we make of our lives. Thank you that your knee is always welcoming, especially when we get on ours. Amen.
