Cinderella

I don’t suppose I need to tell you how the Cinderella story goes. Just so you know, it’s been remade and is high on the list of current must see movies. As usual, Cinderella is a beauty, the Prince is charming and the step family quite wicked.

The interesting thing is that many little girls attend the movie in their princess best, literally. Gowns, tiaras, glass slippers: the works. That’s because all little girls want to be princesses. We are born with that yearning within us, and too often mistake it for an earthly husband. We expect him to fix all our problems, save us from everything and at the same time sweep us into his arms and carry us away on a white stallion.

Romantic fantasy is one thing; living truth quite another. A spouse can’t be our every thing because they are only human.

That yearning is actually an inborn longing for the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a yearning to wear princess robes of brightest white. (See Revelation 7:14)

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. (Ephesians 3:19a, NLT)

Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (Ephesians 3:10b, NLT)

Prayer – Lord, help us get our gowns straight. Amen
