Isn’t it enough to stuff our kids with too much candy or drag them out in the worst weather in outfits that tangle round their feet or cloud their vision?
Apparently not; now some want to change the date. Make it the last Saturday of the month so it is convenient, they cry.
When was anything about Halloween convenient? Or for that matter when was Thanksgiving or Christmas convenient? What about our child’s birthday? Convenient isn’t a life word at all.
Our whole existence isn’t convenient. Life sucks most of the time. Get over it folks.
Muster up some energy to enjoy it before it is all gone!
Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?”(Romans 15:1-2, MSG)
Prayer- Lord, we pray for the grace to enjoy the life we live…today. Amen.
