Ezra 7:6bAnd the king granted him all he asked, for the hand of the Lord his God was upon him (AMP).

Ezra gave credit where credit was due. Yes, the king gave him what he asked for, but rather than becoming haughty over it, he added these words in the same sentence. “For the hand of the Lord his God was upon him. This was his line whether he was asking for things (7:6), traveling (7:9), meeting world leaders (7:28), or enemies (9:31).

I asked myself why not me? What made Ezra so special? How can I have the hand of the Lord upon me? Then I found the answer.

Ezra 7:10For Ezra had prepared and set his heart to seek the Law of the Lord [to inquire for it, and of it, to require and yearn for it] and to do and teach Israel its statutes and its ordinances (AMP).

Ezra 8:22bThe hand of our God is upon all them for good who seek Him but His power and wrath are against all those who forsake Him (AMP).

What changes are needed for the hand of the Lord God to be upon us?

Prayer: Oh Heavenly Father, give us clear direction for those times we feel abandoned or far from you. Give us the courage to implement these truths and give you the credit. In Jesus’ name. Amen
