Dream Killers

We all have a life dream from God. However, right now it may be buried under circumstances, plodding feet or the wrong people. Joseph had a dream but we read in Genesis 37:5, that he shared it with some wrong folks. While “his father observed the saying and pondered over it.” (Genesis 37:11, AMP), his brothers resented Joseph all the more. They decided to kill him, not so much for all their other reasons, but because he had a dream. (Genesis 37:19-20)

You see, a “dream comes with much business and painful effort.” (Ecclesiastes 5:3a)

‘God’ dreams are not wishful whims. God means for them to become a reality.

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back– Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way. Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” — Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Prayer: Lord, thank you for reminding me about my dream of _________________.  Show me the next step toward its fulfillment in my life. In Christ’s name. Amen.
