Ephesians 6:11–Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand safe against all strategies and tricks of Satan (LB).
I used to fall for the current fashion sense advice in my younger years. “You must wear this. The new styles this year are two inches above the knee. No one is wearing blue anymore. Your shoes and purse must match. Grey is the new navy.”
I bought books that touted the latest craze and then I implemented most of them into my life. Oh, the money and time I wasted.
That’s before I knew God’s dress code. Now I dress conservatively, and neatly, topping that off with God’s Dress for Success List. It is now my priority.
I start with the helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the girdle of truth, and the shoes of peace. My accessories are the sword of the spirit and the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:13-17).
What if we spent as much time dressing to please God as we do to please others? How would the world change? The only way to find out is to try it. That fashion advice is found in the Bible, the best seller of all time.
Prayer: Lord of the universe, Wisdom of the ages, forgive us for spending so much time following man-made rules. We want to be on Your Best-Dressed List. In Christ's name. Amen.
