Expiration Date

John 3:16For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He (even) gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him, shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life (AMP).

I am really annoyed with myself. I just threw out twenty dollars. No, that wasn’t my original intention. At first, I planned to save money. I carefully clipped and saved coupons for useful grocery products. The not-saving part came when I stuck them in my wallet and forgot about them. Today I came across my ‘bargains.’ What a waste.

God has a coupon for eternal life and forgiveness. It has no expiration date. Jesus, God‘s son, died on the cross for our sin. He was raised from the dead just because of God’s love for us.

Some toss this coupon, believing their sins too terrible for God to forgive. Others set aside God’s free offer after hearing about it. They try to pay a debt that’s already paid. Others distrust the value of the coupon, but many take God at His word and use the coupon of Jesus’sacrifice to enter God’s rest and look forward to eternal life. How will we use God’s coupon?

Prayer: Thanks, God that your coupon never expires. Lord, we want to know you in the fullness of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We are tired of putting off the truth of your love. Here is our coupon. We choose Jesus now. Make Him real in our hearts. Amen.
