We choose our friends but we are stuck with our families. Is that really true? We have family members that we stay in touch with and others that slide by the wayside. We might be related on paper, but we are not best buds for sure.
How do you gage your family relationships? Are there relatives you entertain just because Mom asked you to or Dad likes to visit with them?
That makes this verse a bit hard to take doesn’t it?
Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another. (Romans 12:10, AMP)
As usual, God’s word gets to the core of the problem.
Prayer-Lord, help us to make loving, wise choices in both friends and family. Amen.
