Whenever I finish a new quilt or publish another book, I proudly display the results. People admire the finished product but they would not do the same for several yards of uncut fabric or a ream of paper waiting for words. Why would they? The project isn’t finished.
That’s one big difference between us and God. We hardly ever admire a work in progress but God loved us before we even existed.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;. (Psalm 139:13, 14, NIV)
The whole difference between construction and creation is exactly this: that a thing constructed can only be loved after it is constructed; but a thing created is loved before it exists.–Charles Dickens
Prayer- Oh Faithful, Loving Father God, thank you that we are not your construction but your creation and thus loved! Amen.
