Fixing Shadows

Did you know the reason we don’t like certain people is because their ways and habits are a reflection of the same thing in ourselves?

Yes indeed, the annoying things that others do are often a reflection of our own selves. We hate them in others because we also struggle with them.

Unless you learn to face your own shadows, you will continue to see them in others, because the world outside you is only a reflection of the world inside you. (Unknown)

Instead of trying to fix others, we might do well to look at ourselves.

Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself. (From Luke 4:23a, KJV)

Of course we can’t heal ourselves but with God’s help… all things are possible and the bonus is that we’ll be able to live like this.

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. (1 Peter 3:9, NIV)

Prayer- Lord, we shudder at the things you show us through others. Help us God! Amen.
