Forgive Us Our Buts

I am too old.

I don’t have the right education.

I have no family backing.

I have no money.

I dislike the whole idea.

I don’t feel safe doing that.

I am not sure it is God’s will.

I will have to move.

I don’t like moving.

I will have to use my spiritual gifts.

I don’t know what my spiritual gifts are.

I don’t believe God gave me any spiritual gifts.

To all I say…BAH! HUMBUG!

Do not put a limit on God. We all have drawbacks and failings, but that is why God chose us. He wants to work through people who are too weak on their own. He uses people who believe what he says and moves on it.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

(2 Corinthians 12:9-11, NIV)

That’s you! That’s me!
