Salt is good (beneficial), but if salt has lost its saltness, how will you restore [the saltness to] it? Have salt within yourselves, and be at peace and live in harmony with one another. (Mark 9:50, AMP)
What is God talking about? What does it mean for us to be salt and how are we to have it in us? Isn’t that the cause of high blood pressure?
Salt is a seasoning, a preservative, melts ice and good, worthy people are often called the salt of the earth. Do we do all that?
Let me ask it this way. Do we add a dash of Christ to the lives of folks around us? Preserve souls by sharing Christ’s salvation message? Melt hard hearts with the love of God? Would the people in our lives call us the salt of the earth?
If we have salt within our selves, we will live in peace and harmony with one another.
Prayer – Lord, pepper our hearts with these questions and draw us near to you so that we might draw others to you. Amen
