Hey I said grassy not gassy! Once again, as I do year after year, I spread grass seed and I water it…and water it…and water it some more!
That means both day and night; I stalk those tiny seeds looking for the smallest hint of green. When they cautiously raise their heads out of the murky soil, I rejoice.
Now I can stop watering, right; no! The package tells me that I must keep the soil moist till the seeds are well established! This takes most of the summer, it seems.
It is sort of like leading someone to Christ. Unfortunately I generally only do the planting, then I move to another speaking venue and someone else has to take up with the watering.
We can’t just bring folks to the knowledge of Christ and then leave them to fend for themselves. Ask yourself how you can water a new believer so that they green up and follow Christ in full measure.
And as he sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and ate them up. But when the sun rose, they were scorched, and because they had no root, they dried up and withered way. (Matthew 13, 4, 6, AMP)
Prayer- Lord, give us both patience and stamina to water beyond first growth. For Christ. Amen.
