As parents, we have a definite responsibility to train up our children in Godly ways.
For their future: Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
For their eternal life: But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. (2 Peter 3:18)
To be Christ-like: Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. (Ephesians 4:15-16)
For a home full of peace: Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)
For a fearless future: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
For Godly companionship: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
For a life of Godly growing: Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation. (1 Peter 2:2-33)
