Surprise in Heaven
I dreamt death came the other night
And Heaven’s gate swung wide.
An angel with a halo bright
Ushered me inside.
And there! To my astonishment
Stood folks I’d judged and labelled
As “quite unfit”, “of little worth”,
And “spiritually disabled”.
Indignant words rose to my lips
But never were set free,
For every face showed stunned surprise —
Not one expected me!
Do not judge; or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? (Matthew 7:1-3, NIV)
Prayer- Lord, grace us with your truth; clear out our willful judgment on others. Amen.
