Our community had a terrible outbreak of Covid-19 recently. The whole community worried and prayed for help. Our church called and asked how they could help.
The home supervisor asked for a Keurig coffee machine for each floor. That way, staff wouldn’t have to leave their posts and go to another unit. We donated the coffee pots and then they needed coffee pods for the machines. People rallied.
You see, everyone wants to help the distressed. They just don’t know what to do. A simple ask on our part became a community project. But we were able to buy the machines, because we’d all faithfully tithed throughout the lock down. Our giving enabled our church to help.
What can you do to help your neighbor?
Give to your local church so that they have enough money for projects like this.
Ask what people need. Your neighbour might have little ones left on their own while Mom works. It might be making masks for the local library to donate. The world is waiting.
For if you give, you will get! Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use to give, large or small, will be used to measure what is given back to you.”
(Luke 6:38, TLB)
