Honk On

Did you know that geese have a great family life? You see, they have learned to fly in a ‘V’ formation because they can fly about 70 times farther together than they can alone.

They all get a turn at leading, because that is the hardest job and whoever is doing it needs a break on occasion.

Geese talk to each other. Well, technically, they honk, and we think they are talking. If one gets hurt, a couple of its friends stop to help.

Let’s compare all that to people, maybe even to our own families. Do we work together for the common good? Support whoever is leader? Talk out our differences? Help one another out? Why/why not?

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”(John 13:34-35, NIV)

Prayer – Lord, surely we can be at least as smart as a flock of geese. Amen
