Human Books

I am thinking of becoming a book. (No, not writing one, becoming one!) Our Library is sponsoring sessions called “Become a Living Book.” During these sessions, you talk to people about your life experience.

The qualifications are simple. Have an interesting story to tell and be willing to discuss your experiences openly. Well, that is right up my alley. I’ve been telling way too much about myself for years now.

The truth is that all of us who call ourselves Christian are living books everyday of our lives.

Daniel 11:33a-“'Those who keep their heads on straight will teach the crowds right from wrong by their example (MSG).

People are watching how we live. Guess who else is watching?

2 Timothy 4:1-2 -I can't impress this on you too strongly. God is looking over your shoulder. Christ himself is the Judge, with the final say on everyone, living and dead. He is about to break into the open with his rule, so proclaim the Message with intensity; keep on your watch. Challenge, warn, and urge your people. Don't ever quit. Just keep it simple (MSG).

So when the spine of your living book gets tired and worn, when your pages have been turned once too often, remember we are not in this just for ourselves. We are someone’s living example.

Prayer: Lord God, help us to keep on keeping on, because we can and do make a difference in the lives of others. May our content always be uplifting. Amen.
