Language Oops

“I have three beautiful grandsons and two granddaughters.”

What? Surely, she didn’t mean that the granddaughters weren’t beautiful? Did she? 

Words have great power. How well ordered are ours?

My dad used to quote from the Bible, but after I read the book for myself, I never found the words he quoted.

Words like this: 

The Bible says take care of yourself first. (WRONG)

Or this.

Do onto others as you would have them do onto you, but do it first. (WRONG)

The yellow race will take over the world. (WRONG)

How many misquotes and downright lies are you spreading?   

Blessed, happy, fortunate, to be envied are the undefiled, the upright, truly sincere, and blameless in the way of the revealed will of God, who walk and order their conduct and conversation in the whole of God’s revealed will. (Psalm 119:1)
