Let Down

Are you in the Christmas Doldrums now? After all the big parties are over, the family has gone home and we stand in the midst of mess that might take until next year to tidy up. Oh, wait, New Years is coming.

That is rather sad for me because Ron and I used to celebrate at a party or go to dinner. Again this year I am on my own.

I have to make my own new traditions because I cannot keep the old ones. Do you find yourself there as well? We cannot stay in the old. The biggest wall we have to climb is the one in our minds. As Winnie the Pooh is quoted as saying, “Life is a journey to be experienced not a problem to be solved.

Friends, we cannot start the next chapter of our lives if we keep re-reading the last ones.

But there’s one other thing I remember and remembering, I keep a grip on hope: God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left. (Lamentations 3:21-24, MSG)

Prayer- Thank God for the hope you give when we have none of our own. Amen.
