I heard a story today about a little girl preparing for her first dance recital. She needed a dress, but she didn't like to shop. She and her mom tried on all the pretty dresses in department store until at last they found just the right one. It made her feel so beautiful. However, when the mother looked at the price tag on the dress, it was very expensive. The price of the dress was just too high. Yet the little girl's father looked at his little girl and saw how beautiful she looked and felt in that dress, and he told the mom that most important thing was that their daughter felt beautiful. He said, “ Buy it.”
That was a sacrifice made on that father's part. The price was much too high. However, for the sake of inner beauty, for the sake of love for the child. He was willing to give it all. Is that not what God did for us?
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. ” (John 3:16-17) (NIV)
Jesus paid a price, you were bought with a price that much too high, but He did it out of LOVE.
Thank you Lord for loving us and for paying the much too high price for us.
