“Success is not final, failure is not fatal, and it is the courage to continue that counts.”(Think of the times you failed and started up again. Today is no different)
“Everyone has his day, and some days last longer than others.” (Linger only in the hours of today. Tomorrow has enough trouble
of its own.)
“You have enemies? Good. It means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.”(And then love those enemies, for that is the desire of Christ.)
“Politics is the ability to foretell what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month and next year, and to have the ability afterwards to explain why it didn’t happen.” (Pray always that truth will win out and that, yes, we may have the courage to admit it when we are wrong.)
“When the eagles are silent, the parrots begin to jabber.” Eagles stand for integrity and are often the symbol of military or political power, for example they were on the standards carried by Roman soldiers. Parrots or gossips on the other hand repeat what others say without thought for understanding. Which are you?
A gadabout gossip can’t be trusted with a secret, but someone of integrity won’t violate a confidence. (Proverbs 11:13, MSG)
Prayer- Lord, give us wisdom to be more than what we are in the kingdom of holiness. Amen.
