Solitude for me is listening and learning to accept God’s leading in my desperate unknown. In that unknown lies the tranquil spirit of the one who yearns to solitude with me.
In his silence, I find a forgiveness that speaks deeply into my heart in a way that noise can never penetrate.
I rest in his silence as his words pierce my heart. And then soothe the wounded spots with his grace.
As I contemplate these moments, I more fully sense the deeper purposes of my Saviour who is asking me to give my all.
Then in these moments, I find a deeper peace in my everyday life.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33, NIV)
