New Year Motto

Dance as though no one is watching.
Love as though you’ve never been hurt.
Sing as though no one can hear you.
Live as though Heaven is on earth
–Unknown

This dancing is the sort that little children do, while they twirl in the sunshine of summer. To love well in spite of hurt is a challenge. It means going forth bravely into a new relationship, trusting that the next will be better.

Most people apparently only sing in the shower, because the large majority of churchgoers do not. When did we decide that praising God was not our job? Perhaps we haven’t read this verse.

Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, praise Him in the assembly of His saints!

Speak out to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with voices [ and instruments] and making melody with all your heart to the Lord. (Psalm 149:1b, AMP)

Maybe that lack of singing is the reason we do not live as though heaven were on earth.

Prayer: Lord may the rafters of the world’s churches ring with praise for you this Sunday…as we belt out the words and glorify you. Amen.
