Pregnant

When someone says they are pregnant we rejoice with them over the bundle of joy to come. However, there are some pregnancies that are not so great.

For instance, my book The Pregnant Pause of Grief is about the three months after my husband died and the grief that I had to work through.

The Bible lists another type of pregnancy…the pregnancy of evil.

Behold, [the wicked man] conceives iniquity and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies. (Psalm 7:14, AMP)

And this is the reward for carrying evil inside.

He made a pit and hollowed it out and has fallen into the hole which he made [before the trap was completed].

His mischief shall fall back in return upon his own head, and his violence come down [with the loose dirt] upon his own scalp. (Psalm 7:15-16, AMP)

If you or anyone you know is carrying evil around, pregnant with it, now would be a good time to let it go.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'(Matthew 6:13, NIV)

Jesus can deliver us from the evil one, even if that evil one is us.

Prayer- Dear Lord, cleanse us from the evil that we might not fall into a pit of our own making. Amen.
