Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth died September 8 of this year. Here in Canada, no matter what headlines you read, she was of great importance to us. Not only did she serve us faithfully for seventy years, but she also served her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her story is preserved in a book called ‘The Servant Queen and the King She Serves. Some unknown author posted this poem which says it all.
Philip came to me today, and said it was time to go.
I looked at him and smiled, as I whispered “Yes, I know”
Then I turned and looked behind me, and saw I was asleep.
My whole family was around me and I heard them weep.
I gently touched each shoulder, with Philip by my side.
Then I turned and walked away with my angelic guide.
Philip took my hand, as he led the way
to a world where kings and queens, are monarchs every day.
I was given a crown to wear or a halo known by some.
The difference is up here, they are worn by everyone.
I felt peace. My reign is over.
I served my country seventy years, as well as my King above.
Thank you for the years, for all your time and love.
Now I’m one of the two again, upstairs in God’s Above.
Well done, Queen Elizabeth, our good and faithful servant.
“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.”
(Hebrews 6:10)
