Recall World

This year, many of the foods we take for granted have been recalled. Yes, it’s goodbye for now to lettuce, cauliflower, and even cucumbers. It’s enough to cause a gal sufficient reason to dump her diet. I dread the news everyday lest they announce e-coli in chocolate!

We take so much for granted, don’t we? We trust our fellow men to follow all the health guidelines and rules so that we will be safe. Instead we have been deluded into thinking that all that was safe would always be safe. I guess we will have to take more responsibility for ourselves.

Someone once said, “trust but verify.’

Surely that applies to our relationship with Christ as well.

This is how we know we’re living steadily and deeply in him, and he in us: He’s given us life from his life, from his very own Spirit. Also, we’ve seen for ourselves and continue to state openly that the Father sent his Son as Savior of the world. Everyone who confesses that Jesus is God’s Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God. We know it so well, we’ve embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God. (John 4:13-16, MSG)

Prayer-Lord, give us eyes that see your truth for ourselves. Amen.
