A woman returned home only to encounter a robber in the midst of stealing her jewelry. She screamed the only thing she could think of at the time. "'Stop! Acts 2:38"
The burglar stopped in his tracks and raised his arms in surrender. She quickly called the police.
The confused officer asked the burglar why he’d stood still for a bit of scripture.
“Scripture?” cried the fellow. “She had an axe and two 38s!”
Knowing scripture can save your life – in more ways than one! Our job is to know it, God’s job to choose the way He uses it in our lives! May he use this one, especially.
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38, NIV)
