First, it was plastic rice then it was plastic water bottles. Okay, when they tell me to fear my shower curtain, I have had enough of being afraid! Be afraid! Be afraid! OR NOT!
You see, Snopes snoops for you. They search out the false news and debunk it.
People don’t like to hear that. They would rather send along fearful versions of something or other.
Talk about fake news? Yes, there is some, but it is not where you think it is. It’s small-minded people writing stories to take down a rival business or competitor. It is bored hackers making up stuff to panic us, like that plastic shower curtain thing.
Check it out for yourself. I will tell you that when a friend sends me a frightful blurb about something or other and I send them the link to the true story on Snopes, they get annoyed. They don’t want to be told that we are all like lemmings, following the latest craze.
Meanwhile, here’s some stuff you can sink your teeth into and pass around without the fear of being wrong.
