No matter what you decide to do with Halloween, tomorrow is a new day. Meanwhile, here are a few thoughts about today. Like Paul says, perhaps the best thing to do is to let God deal with our conscience.
I do my level best to keep a clear conscience before God and my neighbors in everything I do. (Acts 24:16, MSG)
Is pumpkin carving and handing out candy any worse than putting up a Christmas tree or buying chocolate Easter bunnies? Most people think of Halloween as just a fun event. It doesn’t have the best history, but if we lock our doors, turn off the lights, and ignore our neighbours, we look like the most miserable folks around.
That does nothing for Christ’s reputation or for ours.
Prayer – Lord you know our hearts are to please you, no matter what. Show us your truth and help us act on it. Amen
