If you sort of do something, you sort of get results. Consider weight loss. If you sort of take charge of your meals, you sort of get weight loss. If you sort of stop eating sweets but still binge on chocolate, you are sort of successful…sort of.
If you work from home and sort of put in your eight hours, you sort of get the job done…sort of.
If your children sort of get discipline and love from you, they sort of pay attention.
Sort of doesn’t cut it, friends.
Now on the other hand if you really do a weight loss plan, it works. If you really do your fair share of work from home, you might get a promotion.
If you really work with your children and help them become good citizens, you are a good parent.
If you sort of follow God half-heartedly (See February 4 devotional) you sort of get results.
But friends, by following God wholeheartedly, there’s no limit to your future.
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
(Psalm 138:1a NIV)
