My typing looks funny lately because the letter “S” on my board is sticky. I end up with no “S” or maybe several of them. It’s time to change key boards for sure. I don’t want people to misinterpret what I write!
There’s a sticky “S” in the Christian faith too. It’s the word salvation. Many of us confess that Jesus was a good man but we don’t think we need to repent of our sin or acknowledge Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour. We think we can save ourselves.
Perhaps we should take another look at the truth.
For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation?
This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. (Hebrews 2:2-4, NIV)
Prayer – Lord, take us past the sticky ‘s’ and into your truth. Amen
