Taking Stock

So is this a good thing to do? You know, taking a look at ourselves to see how we are doing?

Apparently it is.

But let every person carefully scrutinize and examine and test his own conduct and his own work. He can then have the personal satisfaction and joy of doing something commendable [in itself alone] without [resorting to] boastful comparison with his neighbor. (Galatians 6:4, AMP)

On the other hand, just in case we get a little too uppity about our achievements….

I am not conscious of anything against myself, and I feel blameless; but I am not vindicated and acquitted before God on that account. It is the Lord [Himself] Who examines and judges me. (1 Corinthians 4:4, AMP)

Prayer-Lord, show us where we falter and grow us where we oughter….For Christ. Amen.
