Dare I mention our conversation?? Women speak about 5,000 words per day and men about 2,000. The current thinking is that men just can’t get a word in. Now if men just paid attention when we spoke the first time, women might be able to keep that extra 3,000 to themselves.
Our liver makes five or six things, breaks our food into usable bits, sends out the nutrients we need, and stores the rest. It even filters our blood. Is it any wonder that liver spelled backward is revil which is almost the word, revel? We should truly revel in its amazing life-saving properties.
If we didn’t have lips, our mouths would drip several cups of drool every day, just like our friends the Saint Bernard and the English bulldog! That drool is our body’s version of mouthwash! And those kidneys; what a miracle waste disposal unit they are. Need I say more?
Don’t forget the stomach and the bowels which get rid of some fifty tons or so of the food we eat in our lifetime. (Surely that number is higher for binge eaters and long-lived souls!)
The best news is that all our cells renew themselves on a regular basis so when the Psalmist says in Psalm 139:14 that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, he’s not kidding. That verse holds some obligation on our part.
I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. (Psalm 139:14, AMP)
Prayer – Father, we can’t thank you enough for making us in such a wonderful fashion. Amen
