Ever play the children’s game of Blind Man’s Bluff? Our school version blindfolded one child who then asked questions of the others. “Am I pointed in the right direction? How close am I to the tree, how many steps should I take?”
Did the game begin in Luke 18 when Jesus told the disciples about his upcoming crucifixion and “They understood nothing of these things; His words were a mystery and hidden from them, and they did not comprehend what He was telling them.
(Luke 18:34, AMP)
It’s no coincidence that they came upon a blind man! He prayed for mercy but Jesus cut to the chase. said “What do you want me to do for you?” and he said, “Lord, let me receive my sight!”
Even when Jesus made clear what was to happen to him, the disciples just didn’t get it. Instead of going off to mutter among themselves, what if they had asked Jesus to explain again?
Friends, what if we just asked Jesus for what we really need instead of wandering through vague words? We can trust The Great Translator to make all things clear.
