Three As

If you are a regular reader, you do know that salvation means believing that Jesus died on the cross for your sins (and mine.) God raised him from the dead and by believing on him we have forgiveness for our sins and the promise of eternal life.

In essence, that means that we ADMIT that we have sinned.

We ACT by confessing our sins.

We ACCEPT/receive God’s forgiveness.

Many of us continue to act like unloved sinners because we do not understand the truth of salvation.

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him. (John 3:16-18, MSG)

As the hymn says—Trust and obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.

Prayer- God, we ask for open hearts to feel and know and believe that you love us so much that you sacrificed your son Jesus on our behalf. Amen.
