June used to be the big wedding month. Over the years that has gradually changed and now September seems to be the wedding favorite. Whatever the date, the need is still the same. True love means giving 100 percent of oneself to another.
True Love
Much love abounds. Two hearts are full. Memories, joys begin.
Time passes, hearts overflow. That’s when true love will win.
Heartaches, sickness, difficulty? True love makes its mark
And shines like beacon that it is, becomes more than early spark.
Just this way, Christ loves his church and cares for one and all.
When we keep those wedding vows, we display that heavenly call.
Ephesians 6:31, 32– a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. This is a profound mystery, but I am talking about Christ and the church (NIV).
What percentage of ourselves have we given to our spouse? Or to God?
Prayer: Dear Lord, our math is a little off. While we are content with fractions, you are not. Give us your grace so that we might give our all to you. That means 100 percent! In Christ’s name. Amen
