Vacuum

My in-laws lived most of their lives without electricity, but when they moved to a home with hydro, Grandma got a vacuum. Oh how she loved that thing. It changed her life. No more goose wing dusters, mops or dustpans for her.

Today, most of us take vacuuming for granted and generally detest having to do it. You see, women in general abhor a vacuum. And I mean that in the broadest sense possible. We don’t like to use one and we do not like silence.

But sometimes… silence is the better choice.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop [on the flat oriental roof, exposed to all kinds of weather] than in a house shared with a nagging, quarrelsome, and faultfinding woman.   (Proverbs 21:9, AMP)

Prayer – Father God, help us be peace makers…even if it means keeping our mouths shut. Amen
