I hopped up from the couch and promptly fell onto the floor. My foot was asleep! How could the rest of me not notice that my foot was useless?
Has that ever happened to you? My view from the floor exposed dust bunnies under the furniture and a dollop of mud that the vacuum missed. Hopefully, I am not alone in this.
That is the best way to see our real selves. Rather than complaining about our low level, let’s wisely take a good look at the view from down there. From there, we more easily discover our failures, our mistakes, and other neglected areas.
Appreciate the opportunity when God lands us low.
Whoever finds his lower life will lose the higher life, and whoever loses his lower life on my account will find it the higher life.
(From Matthew 10:39, AMPC)
Whoever exalts himself with haughtiness and empty pride shall be humbled and brought low, and whoever humbles himself and has a modest opinion of himself and behaves accordingly shall be raised to honor.
(From Matthew 23:12, AMPC)
Are you on the floor now?
