W.D.J.D with Grief (Part 2)

And the day passed.

Jesus continued to minister to others. The disciples wanted Jesus to send the crowds away to buy their own dinner, but Jesus said “Why don’t you feed them?”

They insisted it was impossible, because all they had were five loaves and two fish.

But Jesus gave God thanks for those food bits, handed them to the disciples and together they fed the crowd of 5,000 men plus women and children.

Again he set off to be alone.

And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. (Matthew 14:23, KJV)

Jesus sent the crowds away to get some alone time, but then his disciples got themselves into a mess out on the sea.

What do you do when you want to be alone with your grief?

What do you do when your friends need help?

Prayer – Father, give us the grace to care more about others than we do about ourselves. Amen
