Walk On

“A bear, however hard he tries, grows tubby without exercise.”

– A.A. Milne

God likes to walk (Genesis 3:8) and commands us to walk (Deuteronomy 8:6).

He suggests we wear sensible clothing when we walk (1 Samuel 17:39).

Jesus spent a lot of time walking (Matthew 4:18, 14:25-26, Mark 6:48-49).

Walking signifies healing (Matthew 15:31, Acts 3:8).

It is part of believing (Luke 9:5).

And it makes God happy when we do (3 John 1:4).

This devotional is somewhat tongue in cheek but God only gave us one body. If we don’t care for it, how will we be able to care for others?

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking… (3 John 1:4a, NIV).

Prayer -Lord, may we give you joy! Amen
